I couldn't agree more. I don't think people realize how valuable in game experience really is. Instead it took 7 or 8 games for Mett to develop....could have been 2-3 games had he played some significant time last year.

What I couldn't understand last year (2011) was why *CLM did not give Mett anything like meaningful reps, even when LSU had the game in hand early. He knew that Mett would be our starter in 2012. He had to know that reps would only pay dividends when the new season came (or when an unexpected need might arise), but he got virtually nothing. Mett in the Bama game of 1/9 may have made no difference in the outcome, but at least it would have appeared LSU was not going to go down without a fight. But no. And so, we know what happened then. And we know what happened on 12/31. Other than recruit and promise the moon, Les Miles does not seem to know what to do with his talent and skill positions. That's all I can conclude.
