I have never hated Israel or Jews, but I've often wondered why this particular demographic is immune from criticism and from being held accountable for their actions as a community.

Who wouldn't want to return to Egypt and live under shariA law?

I smell ya. I have often wondered why the Jews can't be criticized. I mean, you just never read about anti-Jew stuff in the news or pop culture. Never.

That would have the same outcome as a one-way trip from Hitler to visit Auschwitz.
There's no evidence to support the idea that all Muslims are chomping at the bit to exterminate Jews, otherwise, Iran wouldn't have the Mideast's largest Jewish population outside of Israel. A lot of Westerners make the false assumption that Muslims are as eager to annihilate Jews today as they were in the 1940's. Also, remember that Muslims make a distinction between Jews and Zionists.

You're right, you don't hear about it. The only uncensored media outlet right now is the internet, and you can bet your southern arse it won't last long. Why hasn't Hollywood produced something similar to Spielberg's Schindler's List to traumatize the world about General Lazar Kaganovich's genocide of Orthodox Christian Slavs in Ukraine? Norman Finkelstein has expounded on this guilt industry for years, and he eventually lost his tenure at DePaul in the process. Academic freedom? My ass!

I can't quite tell whether you're being sarcastic or not, but there's certainly a double standard in this country when it comes to how you're allowed to speak about Israelis and how you're allowed to speak about Palestinians.
quote:
Hearst reporter Helen Thomas has rightly received criticism for her offensive comment that Israelis should “get the hell out of Palestine” and “go home [to] Poland and Germany and America.” Though Thomas quickly apologized, issuing a written statement that said “I deeply regret my comments I made last week regarding the Israelis and the Palestinians,” some conservatives are still calling for her to be fired. Sam Stein reports that one of those critics is former Bush Press Secretary Ari Fleischer, who said in an email that Thomas “should lose her job over this“: “As someone who is Jewish, and as someone who worked with her and used to like her, I find this appalling,” [Fleischer said.] “She is advocating religious cleansing. How can Hearst stand by her? If a journalist, or a columnist, said the same thing about blacks or Hispanics, they would already have lost their jobs.” But are conservatives applying the religious cleansing standard equally? Consider Gov. Mike Huckabee, who has on numerous occasions voiced his opposition to a Palestinian state in Palestine, saying that “the Palestinians can create their homeland in many other places in the Middle East, outside Israel.” Like the most radical right-wing elements in Israel, Huckabee’s conception of Israel includes Palestinian lands occupied by Israeli forces in 1967. Huckabee has never apologized for any of this, for the simple reason that this is what he really thinks: The Palestinians should be transferred out of Palestine. As far as I know, no conservatives have ever criticized Huckabee for these comments, let alone called on Fox News to fire him. I look forward to Ari Fleischer doing that very soon.
LINK / By the way, I find it hilarious that Ari Fleischer thinks that anti-Black and anti-Hispanic speech is more verboten than anti-Jewish speech, as if it would be an act of career suicide to suggest that Hispanics self-deport to Mexico.

Before the creation of modern day israel, Jews and Chistians were widespread throughout the middle east and treated very fairly. Muslims were still the majority, but did recognize that Jews and Christians were similar in religion and lived peacefully with them. Every country in the middle east had a sizable jewish and christian community. Ever since the creation of Israel, the tone in the middle east has taken a turn toward religious persecution. Muslim states do not like Israel and those that support it, which are usually Christian majority countries. So it may seem that muslims hate jews because muslim countries don't like israel. But the reality of it is that Muslims do not like Israel the state, but most have no problem with Jews and Christians, unless they are zionists.

Rick Sanchez and Charlie Sheen might as well leave the USA, because neither one will ever find employment here. They have been zapped from America's mainstream.
