Doubtful. He's been pretty vocal in the media since he's been benched and he knows he's not coming back so why does he need anonymity. If I had to guess I'd go Harper or Jenkins

There was an interview earlier where Harper praised Spags. It was about midseason. Who knows

Contradiction for 500 Alex...

Dumb frick. Whoever said this was clearly part of the problem. Outside of 3 or 4 guys, they all suck arse.

Im sure it was AWESOME for Payton to have to sit at home, just like us all these years, watching these bums the last 5 months. I hope he comes back and carpet bombs the whole group

I agree, sounds like a lazy POS that got away with doing whatever and "creating" in that shite bird Williams defense. And now has to learn an actual scheme or system and either couldn't do it or wouldn't do it. God forbid we hire DCs that don't have personality and make you get out of your comfort zone.

Sounds like a guy on his way out dishing out a parting shot, who doesn't want to deal with any repercussions of speaking out.

Was Jenkins truly so injured he needed to be placed on IR?

The only guy on the Saints defense that would have any credibility at all is Lofton and he's only been here one season.

Everyone else either sucks or are too young to even give that type of interview.

Yeah you can eliminate Lofton, Bunkley, Hawthorne, Cam, probably P Rob, and Vilma(don't think he'll be giving Williams any props ever again).

I have never played or been around a defense where the coach asked us what we would like to do.

He's the freaking coach, it's his scheme. You do your job and shut your mouth. If you can't do both, then he'll bench you and look to replace you.

Whoever said this is just a whiney bastard. If Spags truly does suck then it will come out next year but you can't go to the media crying about how life is tough and you don't like a coach because he didn't let you tell him what you think should happen on defense. Man up, shut your mouth and do your job.

Personlly I saw glimmers of a good defense. One key thing is starting about half way through the season we were actually getting pressure on the QB with a 4 man rush. It has been forever since that has happened. Now our backs didn't do a great job in coverage and that needs to be addressed. Lets give him an offseason to maybe get a few more of his guys in and lets judge him then.

Yeah, any rookie or new FA wouldn't have been here to compare Spags to GW.

I seriously doubt its a 2nd or third year type of guy too. Its obviously one of the vets who's been here long enough to build a relationship with the local media and trusts them to print that story. Its pretty easy to narrow it down to a handful of guys, all of which suck, with the exception of Greer.

One of the if not The worst Defenses in the ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE NFL.

I don't entirely disagree with that but Spags inability to adapt to personel is soley his responsibility. He is getting paid as a Professional coach which means being regarded as one of the worst D's of all time is inexcusable. May he get a short hook next year if things don't change for the better.

I agree with the worst defense in history.

But we had players that were in a blitzing system and had cover coners that never had to cover guys very long under Williams.

Spags main shortcoming this year was trying to run his defense with players brought in to fit an entirely different scheme. He should have been flexible enough to maybe blitz more to take advantage of the players skill set but he can't just take throw out his defensive gameplan. Payton and Benson brought him here to bring his defense, not run Williams' defense.

I think Spags big issue is the conerbacks and safties can't cover for more than like 2 seconds (exception being Greer).

I told you motherfrickers that Shanle had the boom over this organization. You think this is bad? Wait until the Saints cut him. Then you'll get the real boom.
