My issue is the whole TK aspect. It was the most convenient plot line I've seen. 10 % of the population has telekinetic abilities, no one does nothing about it. The movie doesn't explore it, just comes off as a bail out plot line to make the movie work.

A few issues...
Obviously killing people in the future isn't that big of a deal since they kill Joe's wife thus dismissing the need for loopers.
Ignoring that, since the time machine can send people to any place, why even worry with a looper at all? Send that mother fricker straight to the furnace.
This is if we accept that maybe the time machine can only send you back 30 years and no more (because you could just send them back 60 million years to be eaten by dinosaurs). Maybe it's like Quantum Leap and you must leap within your own lifetime.
