how appropriate that the decline of the U was evident in the 2005 Peach Bowl vs LSU...

The 2012 Chicken Bowl was the exposure of LSU...

The complete lack or creativity on offense, the lack of focus and execution by the players, the inability for players to be "coached up", the amount of off field issues

tell me where I am wrong...

I know GFY ... tl/dr...

It's still correctable. But the first step is to acknowledge the problem which hasn't happened yet.

Come on. Last night sucked, but 40-3 isn't the same as losing on the last play 25-24.

This same thing was said after 2008 and 2009.

OP is right. We're done. All of our defensive talent is going to leave, the offense is a train wreck, we're only going to win 8 games next year. Recruiting will decline.

We thought TAMU was rising to be our rival, instead they were rising to replace us.

This is the beginning of the end. It was fun while it lasted.

According to this board, we've been on the decline the last 5 years. Except we haven't really.

If this is the way some of you handle a loss, I hate to see how you handle a real life crisis.

I don't think the program is in decline, but 2012 was down year, just like 2008 and 2009.

LSU is still an elite program.

Hey man, I thought we were seeing it early 2010.

I thought 2008 and 2009 were warning signs and 2010 looked like a continuation of the decline early in that year.

But that Florida game turned it around. That ball bounces the other way, who knows what happens.

But it turned into a "the Mad Hatter is back" moment and it re-energized the fan base and team.

I think we've got enough talent to continute to win just enough, but I guess what just enough is can be relative.

As long. There is still anger, the LSU Nation is ok. I am afraid another 9-3 or worse next year will invite widespread apathy, which is MUCH worse IMO

To answer the OP, no, this is not what a program in decline looks or feels like.

Sorry to be blunt, but you're a dolt for thinking to ask. Your "concern" is misplaced only because this is one of the most successful football eras at LSU.

Demand perfection with an understanding that it is extremely difficult to achieve.

Now looking at a Tennessee over the past 10 yrs. should give you an answer to your question.

I feel your pain OP. I want to tell you that it will get better, but it doesn't.

It only gets worse and worse and worse and you're helpless to do anything about it. The bad part is your coach is locked up longterm now. If you'd like to peek into the future, take a gander at Iowa. Locked up an average coach with a huge salary and long term deal, complacency was inevitable and now they're stuck. The bright side is Louisiana has a great class coming up, down side is it will be harder and harder to keep them home.

The "fans" aren't helping the school neither. Just go and read what someone sent to Odell Beckham on his twitter.

Programs in decline win their conference the previous season? Then go on to a 10 win season?

Good grief! After every loss, it's the same story for LSU fans. Fire Miles! QB sucks! Fire OC! End of era! Golden age is over!

You fricking people need to find a new team. Seriously.

Landry, Odell, Hill, Turner, Minter, Logan, Mills.. all made HUGE strides as the season went on. They were coached and coached well obviously.

It's the lack of an identity on offense

It's been in decline for about 4 years now, people were just too stubborn or didn't want to believe it. We had a good run last year, and that alleviated the descent somewhat, but that year was an outlier. We've been playing shitty football since 2008.

You tards said the same in 08. Oh the sky is falling les will never win the sec again much less a bcs title. You were wrong. And this program isnt on a decline.

Anyone who thinks LSU is the most talented team is sorely mistaken. Seriously teams like usc and fsu have outrecruited LSU for years yet neither is as good as LSU rt now.

Clemson def has more talented wrs and more talented qb. That is evident. Our young guys on d arent there yet and fir the first time in a while we dont currently have a 1st round pick in the defensive backfeild. All the top teams have talent.
