At the old lease I'd load it before I got in the 4 wheeler and unload when I got back to camp. Nothing in the chamber until I start walking to the stand.

Buddy's place down the river w're not allowed to have ammo in guns until you get out the boat and in the woods. One of his dads friends died out there when they were in high school from grabbing a loaded .22 in the boat by the barrel and it went off, so the old guys are adamant about it. I rather it that way honestly.

Me too. So you miss getting a shot at a deer. But no horror stories to tell, it's good.

Same here.

I'm one of the very few people I know who has been shooting his whole life and still gets apprehensive around loaded guns.

Since I had an accidental discharge last year, bullets in the gun out the stand drives me crazy. It would be soooooooooo easy to accidentally chamber a round when you close the bolt.
