Not hunting today. Son told me he will not clean another deer for me. Seafood gumbo cooking time for tonights drunks.

Still can't shoot a shotgun or rifle for about another week. The wife was pissed that I went yesterday just with a pistol.

No morning hunt for me. Bringing the wife to Baton Rouge to the doc. Might stop off at Academy and buy a ground blind and go set it up later if the rain doesn't get too heavy.

Good luck to yall

Wish I was in the stand today. Off to the airport to pick up my step son. Came back yesterday fromt he camp. Missed a doe at about 180yds. I debated on shooting but it was my last hunt and she was about to vanish with the other two does. A twisted around freehand quick shot. Oh well, can't wait to get back in Thrusday.
Good Luck guys

I missed two separate 8 points yesterday morning. Had to take a few days off the clear my mind of the disappointment. Well I liver shot the first one a.nd the guy a few hundred yards down finished him off. The second one I hit a tree. It is hard shooting running deer. Second one was around a 135 or so 8, real good deer.

We have tags so it's legal to shoot 2 if you have two tags. Checked gun and put 3 shots inside a quarter at 100. User error....

Am I the only one out here this evening?

Camden, MS
54 degrees
Light wind
.308 Rem
Box stand looking over small cutover
Would like to get some meat in the freezer before 2013, but all indications are that these bastards are still moving at night.

I brought the wife and put her in a stand I frequently hunt, her second time to ever deer hunt. Shot one last year on her first trip. If she shoots again I may make her walk home this evening!

Be safe out there tonight and don't drink and drive!
