theres an incredible number of football players who smoke pot, but were just slightly smarter at hiding it or teams didn't care..

i don't believe he is a waste at all. the synthetic weed doesn't even get him kicked out most universities.

What he brings on the field would definitely help the Saints. He's a defensive maniac, a guy who makes a game-changing play about once a game on average. Not a couple times a season, but about one time a game. He could have the impact Troy Polumalu had in Pittsburg when he was healthy.

Combine won't help him, as he's the exact opposite of a workout wonder- his numbers will be average, and his size will be a negative. But his production when the lights come on has been unmatched.

That being said, like others have noted, New Orleans would be the absolute worst place for him to go. He likely would thrive somewhere where there's a good team atmosphere, far away from home... Pittsburg comes to mind. Or Baltimore.

He should go to Colorado, or wherever it is that weed was legalized.

ummmm no

The only knock on the kid is smoking weed......They test for Weed once per year in the NFL

LSU had constant random testing (more than any other SEC team along with UGA)

Guys have had much bigger knocks on them and been less of playmakers and got drafted...

HB will get drafted...Book that shite

His only knock is that he smokes weed? So we're ignoring him being 5'8 and very inconsistent in coverage?

Take your LSU goggles off please.

5'8 guys can't have success in the NFL?

tyrann not only has incredible football instincts. he is an incredibly solid tackler. he lead LSU in tackles as a true sophomore. i'd love to see him play safety.

btw i've seen him listed at 5'9.. the player he is most compared to is cortland finnegan who is only 5'10 at corner..

Although I'm an LSU fan I never really liked the Honey Badger; it seemed to me he had an arrogant attitude even before he got the Honey Badger moniker.

That having been said, it's ridiculous for some people to paint him as some sort of thug felon. The guy smoked weed and clearly didn't have his priorities straight. That's no reason to crucify him. I'm not saying it should necessarily be the Saints, but some team should take a chance on him.

i love how LSU fans are so quick to claim homerism.

meanwhile he only won what defensive player of the year in the SEC as a true sophomore.. and had guys like lemichael james from oregon claim he was the best player in the entire country last season.

I call bullshite on this. LSU fans really piss me off with this kind of shite. The kid only has one of the best 2 year stretches for a defensive player in the history of the college game, then after the NC game and then his release from the team all of a sudden the kid can't cover and won't go anywhere in life.
You are absolutely kidding yourself if you think he goes undrafted next April.

When did I say anything contrary to what you just said?

Pretty sure that is what the guy you just quoted was insinuating.

Sorry, I know you were basically agreeing with me besides that, but I guess I was just commenting on it in general.

Definitely should. I mean, what this team is missing is a 5-9 cornerback with a craving for pot.

Yeah, I mean the Saints just polished off a season where they gave up the most yards in NFL history. No way they could use a player like TM.

If he has a good combine, I wouldn't mind getting him late in the draft. He's better than a lot of the players we have now.

No.

NOLA is the absolute worst place for him to be. He is way too immature.

Also, his coverage skills are not great. His knack for the ball is awesome and he is certainly worthy of being a ST's player. But you don't draft a ST player in the early rounds. So maybe if he's there in the 6th or 7th, but I'm sure some team will reach before then.

First off, I'm not against having him on the team. I'm just not so blind to stand up and scream, DRAFT THIS GUY!

Next, why should I care what De'Anthony Thomas thinks? His awards, his trophies don't equate to anything in the NFL, so why are you even bringing those up?

If we did draft him, I'd gladly support him, I'm just telling you that it doesn't just come down to him smoking pot. He has a tad more to work on and better his game.
