Back in the day when I was young, I would of just told the dudes to frick off.  And yes, would get into a couple fights just for the hell of it.
After a few years pasted, was happy for the wife getting hit on knowing it make her feel good about herself. Trust grew over time and I know it wasn't going anywere.

Back in my rowdy fighting days I'd wish someone would hit on my gf but they never would. Now when I go in a bar I hope guys try and buy her drinks. Less drinks ill have to pay for

Doesn't bother me one bit. Guys hit on my wife all the time. I plow it right and buy her whatever she wants. She's not dumb and isn't going anywhere. She likes the attention, but will get annoyed sometimes then I'll step in and save her. We don't go out much anymore, but back when we were dating it was funny to watch dudes drool like pussies trying to get her. She used to get them to buy her a drink and then take it right to me. It became a game when the fellas and I used to take the chicks out dancing. Who's girl could get the most free drinks.

doesnt bother me if they hit on her, honestly i like when they buy her drinks because then thats less money i have to spend. and i know she gets a kick out of it.
as long as i have someone i can go talk with while she is getting hit on, so im not just standing there with my thumb up my ass, then im more than ok with it. but if its just me and her, no im not letting you take away my only company for the night
