My team was playing in the intramural playoffs, and was winning...until Dennis Tracy and Jamie Brandon showed up right before halftime. fricking ringers.

Playing 5 on 5 at the Rec with some friends. Well one of my friends(he's a tall, big guy and let's just say bball wasn't his strongest sport) grabs the rebound and instead of passing the ball to the PG he decides he wanted to channel his inner Magic Johnson and lead the fast break. Before he got to half court he some how stepped on the ball while dribbling and face planted on the court. Both teams immediately stopped the game and started laughing. Good times.

Playing around before a basketball pep rally in high school and we decided we would try the ole white guy jump off of someone's back and try to dunk it before anyone came in. If it went well we were going to do it during the pep rally. Well a buddy of mine starts at half court with me behind him. He runs and bounces it off the backboard and I follow up with the flush. The only problem was my hand got caught in the net, my feet flew up in the air and I landed on my head. When I finally woke up everyone was seared in the pep rally and I was on a backboard wearing a neck brace. Good times.

We used to play on an outdoor court in our town - all kinds of people would show up but usually no problems ever occurred. In between two full-court 5-on-5 games, a trashy white dude, his friend, and his girlfriend show up. He starts shooting on one end - right as the game is about to start, one of the guys says "hey, this is the full court, step off." White trashy dude flatly refused. Other guy keeps telling him that we're about to play a game and he just won't leave. Then he starts to cop an attitude as others start to jump in to tell him to leave. He gets more angry, starts "bucking up" to everyone and trying to fight. One dude and him were on the brink on throwing punches and an older fella started to get in his face, too. I step in and just say "Can you shoot down here when we're on the other side and step off when we come back down?" He just said, "Sure. All you had to do was ask." I'm not intimidating at all, I just think he wanted someone to be polite. Twas crazy. A couple weeks later this same angry guy was playing in a full court game and tried to start about three fights and eventually left the court in a rage, slamming the gate door. Complete psycho.

me and some friends thought we were pretty good at basketball and signed up for the LSU southern rec tournament and first round went up against what I can only assume was the Southern basketball team. I don't think we scored a point and they were constantly dunking on us. Another time while playing at the park, this fat kid that looked like the kid from heavyweights decides to set a pick on me and procedes to elbow me right above the eye. Ended up with stitches and a nasty star right before my trip to vegas.

Somehow got involved in a pickup game of 4-on-4, at the old HPER building/gym in Fayettville during a winter break. Anyway, I was utterly and totally out of my league--4 of the guys in the game played at Arkansas, and another two could at least get rim-- I'm a short bastard that was lucky to be able to touch the darn net. Since I'm clearly the worst player involved and really just a warm body to even out the numbers, I was put on the team with 3 ex-Hogs; I guess they thought I was enough of an impairment to level out the teams. We start the game, and nobody on my team can hit a damn thing- the other guys on my team combine to miss about 10 shots in a row, before I pick up a scramble-type rebound and chuck it in from about 25 feet. The process repeats itself, almost identically the next time down the court. After hitting these two bull shite shots, my teammates start feeding me-- and for whatever reason, I was on fire. I hit something like 6 of my first 7 shots, all from 3 point range. One of my teammates starts calling me Jimmy Chitwood. We're storming back from the early crater the other team had put us in, when we couldn't hit a damned thing. We get it back to game point, whoever scores next wins-- they get me what I thought was an open look from 3-- and the ball was plucked from my hands at the top of my jump shot by ex-Hog Roger Crawford, was taken the other way and dunked to end the game.

When I was a member at Red's in Lafayette, I was playing pickup. Keep in mind red's has 3 small courts enough to fit a 4 v 4 game. Black guy on my team is basically being Kobe/AI. Passes to no one, takes every shot, and he sucks at that. Well one time we are on a fast break and I decide to check him, and when he was going in for the layup I pinned it on the backboard. After a brief argument, he quit. Not my best moment since the guy was on my team, but he had to be checked.
