Stopped by Montalbano's seafood around noon to pick up some oysters and they just were pouring a basketfull in the ice cheast.. nice and hot. I could not resist.. 4 lbs @ $3.99 a lb Then made the mistake of stopping to see Dad. Ended up spliting them with him..One of lifes little treasures..

(Posted on 12/27/12 at 7:29 am to Jones) I picked up 5 lbs from Sammy's (Highland) last Thursday. It was about 8 pm, and they had just pulled a fresh batch. They were hot, spicy, good size for December, and tasted awesome. I'll wait another month before I grab more with them being 4.99/lb. But they're like a little white powder I used to know, sometimes I just have to have them.

This early season ones are delicous. One of our local places is open and selling them this year already, not too sure they have ever opened this early.
