I think the NFL comeback player of the year can be as hotly contested as the MVP

Manning came back from missing an entire year with a possible career ending neck injury to lead his team to a 12-3 team

Peterson came back from a huge nee injury late last season to have a possible 2000+ yard rushing season.

Both are testaments to their hard work and determination. Great year if you like comeback stories, which I do.

They should just do co-comeback players, you can't pick between the two. Each is great in their own right.

Peyton Manning is the single most valuable player in the NFL, Peterson made a great comeback, but you could put Peyton Manning on Amy NFL team and they'd instantly be a playoff contender.

A great player no doubt but that wasn't the question. That being said, I understand that is yuor opinion but I can't understand how some people come to their conclusions.

What Peterson has done is remarkable.

What we do not know for certain is how critical Manning's injury was. Did they over state his injury to possibly get him out of Indy and onto a contender? Were there other issues going on there that were never publicized?

Manning missed a whole year to an almost career ending neck injury.

I have no idea and i am probably wrong but how many games did ap miss last year? 1?

but you aren't supposed to tear your ACL and then run for 2000 yards the next year

Especially when your team has no passing threat

AP tore every ligament in his knee; have you seen the gif of it?!?!? For a RB to recover from that and not only be successful but even better than he was before is simply incredible. RBs rely so heavily on strong knees for their cutting ability. Go watch that 80 yard run he had a few weeks ago and the huge juke he made, it's remarkable.
AP is probably the single best player in the NFL right now. When you talk about the best player at a single position, the two that are pretty much agreed on are Megatron at WR, and AP at RB

Exactly. AP had a tenth of the time to recover compared to Manning.

What AP is doing compared to Manning is night and day IMO.

That's not to say he's the better player, but it's absolutely the better comeback IMO.

Both have great cases for CPotY, but for me it's Peterson and it's not even close. Manning is having a great year, but ADAP is having one of the best years for a RB ever and could break the single season rushing record. That's unheard of for someone who literally shred his knee less than a year earlier.

I didnt say what ap has done isnt great.. Im just saying comeback player of the year..
Player misses every game to neck injury to a player at the end of his career "everyone" said he would never take another snap.
Or
Player who misses one game to come back from acl surgery an has great year "not the first to come back from acl" jamal charles had a pretty good year himself from same injury.

Im just saying we have seen alot of acl injuries and players recover... I cant think of anyone comming back from the injury mannig had.. And to play at that level is amazing

manning's having a good year for manning

peterson is having pretty much the best year any running back has ever had, and he's quite literally the only threat his team has

sorry but peterson wins both

Manning, Brady, Rodgers, and perhaps Brees are the best QBs in the NFL today

Personally I think Rodgers is more valuable for his team than the rest - but that's subjective. The Broncos were pretty good last year with a zero at teh QB position FWIW

If it is based on games missed then you have to give it to Manning, but if it is based on injury overcome than it is a toss up. MAnning had nerve damage in his neck, thats big tim stuff.

Drew BRees didn't win in 2006 even thought he had a monster Rotator cuff ear (Pennington did weak)

I think AD is MVP and Comeback player of the year. Peyton is being Peyton, which is great. But AD's season is one of the all time most remarkable seasons in NFL history.
