I am trying to stumble upon an IKE dollar at my bank. One of the tellers had one recently and I could not talk her into letting me buy it.

Regarding the Susan B Anthony and Sacagawea dollars I have not interests in holding those for the time being. Can you expand on what your interests are in Susan B anthony dollars?

No real reason, just know that they are the value I paid for them, $1. And they were really only minted a couple of years, I believe, so who knows, may be worth something later.

So the bank had an IKE dollar and would not give it to you? Seems like if you gave them a dollar, they would have to give it to you, no?

I got you. I have a few 1979 Susan B Anthony's that I will hold onto, but I really haven't grown a liking to them or the Sacageweas.

The teller said it was already claimed. I got hosed. One of the branch managers is a collector too, and I am assuming he called dibs on it before I got in there that day. Occasionally when I take a break and go for a walk out of the office, I will make the rounds to all of the banks within two blocks and see if I can buy anything. I've been highly unsuccessful with that approach, although the walk does wonders for a days work.

I should say too, I love the look of them. Just a nice looking coin.

"Da fuq. If its claimed why are you still holding it?" would have probably been my response. Good to know I am not the only guy that goes around to banks looking for random coins.

Thanks, yes I thought I would have posted the photos 2 weeks ago, but it is amazing what can sidetrack you. I will say though that once you get it organized, this whole process becomes extremely simple.

This might be overkill too, but I would check google for coin collecting spreadsheets. I dabbled about an hour of my time doing inventory last Saturday and found some useful spreadsheets online. I do not know if I will complete an entire inventory, however I did improve on organizing my new collection

I have one with all US and Canadian coins if anyone wants it. It also pulls current bid and ask prices for all metals.

<---- @yahoo.com if anyone wants it.

Got it thanks. Very nice spreadsheet by the way. Not having live data on coin values has been one thing that has deterred me from taking full inventory of my collection.

Did you put this together, or acquire it from another source?

Not sure what you are asking specifically, but i have not went through them yet. I do know I have a few that were used as advertisement.

If I had to guess, most of them would be face value, but like I said, haven't gotten around to them yet.

I order 2 half dollar boxes today. I found 3 40% silver half dollars in my first box, dated between 1967-1969. They are in one of my photos I posted. Going through half dollars is really fast compared to other coins, fortunately.

Send it to me, I will give it a try. I have been known to code a mean spread sheet.
