Was at Cabela's this afternoon and gun dept was insane

Went out today to finish last minute christmas shopping and cabelas was my last stop. It was about 3:00 and went browsing by gun dept and was pretty insane. Had people waiting in line for help and there was even a line to fill out firearm background checks at the comptuer table. All ar's were gone except 2 .22's. Never seen that before. People were loading carts with ammo as well. Couldn't even get down that aisle. One would think a war is about to break out or world about to end

I think they are keeping the AR's behind the counter. At least that was the case at academy a couple days ago.

I was expecting the same scene at bass pro last night but it wasn't bad. They did have 2 SW AR-22s on the shelf.

I was by the gun shop near here yesterday, they had a Stag stripped lower, only one left in stock. $200.00.

I wonder how long the wait on hold was for the FBI "instant" background check. If that system were to go down and people weren't able to guy their guns as a result, LOOK. THE. frick. OUT.

I actually called RIGHT at 9am when they opened (the phone lines were already busy at that time), found out they had one left, waited on hold for about 45 minutes and essentially ordered it over the phone until I could get out there after work.
$1100 plus tax. It was the 2T model.

I must've seen 6+ people buying at least 4-5 30 round clips. They were selling them for $20 each, I forget the brand but it wasn't PMAG.

It was 1 1/2 hours yesterday when I went to pick up a rifle. There was a line behind me and they tried to get the background checks in multiples but they could only do 2 at one time. I felt sorry for the people behind me.

Couldn't even imagine trying to get around any gun dept in Academy, Bass Pro, or Cabelas this weekend. Media is not helping by anymeans. People are literally freaking out about this crap. Overheard a salesman in gun dept telling one guy off to the side to wait a month then should have a lot of stuff re-stocked.

Planning on getting an AR in about 2-3 weeks. Only buying mags, ammo, and accessories on line now. Also got a friend going to get me 2 stripped lowers for later builds.
All this will be in high demand if ban gets put into effect, if no band we a bunch of doomsday preppers.
