I mean why not? Those olders like me that remember the huge hanging gondola back in the SD early day will recall that this was a huge heavy piece and would bet the SD structure could easily handle the new lightwieght technology!

I agree the MBSD needs better screens, but why waste money on too much screen? If that much money is laying around, buy some reasonable upgrades for the video, and spend the rest getting rid of the little gold and black vertical bars around the interior edges. Or put the new screens over that shite. I dunno.

Where do you advise putting a screen that big? The design of the dome wouldn't allow that. I might be in the minority, but I don't care for the Cowboys placement of their screen. The Superdome absolutely needs some screens though, no doubt about that. They just couldn't place one that massive.

Put 2 larger screens above each end zone. And then a smaller version of what Dallas has in theirs for the middle. Also, would like to see them fix the seats for the entire stadium.

To tell me you don't think it would fit in that huge expanse? I have been in Jerryworld and SD has just as much space; but anyway your version might be good, two corners like propsed at SEZ Tiger Stadium and a hanging one like the gondola but with the flat screen tech today would be awesome!

I'm just happy I can actually read the screens in the dome now, you guys obviously don't remember how bad they were pre Katrina

I just don't see the need for spending that much just to have the biggest screens. It's possible that they could fit it, but it would more than likely appear obnoxious. The 2 endzones with larger screens and a good size gondola would be awesome.

Yes, they were terrible. The stadium needs a gondola though.

not an engineer but the girder design of those stadiums looks right to distribute the weight. In the Dome I dunno how they would do that. The Dallas scoreboard weighs 1.2 million pounds.

I am, those girders/supports were obviously designed for that load (1200kips) plus the 90kip extra load they talk about in the summary which is susbstanial for sure. I would like to know what the loading for SD rook was with the gondola if anyone was associated with it back then. I know the SD has that tension ring around the top perimeter that transfers all the loads into compression around/below it(tension is on the ring itself). Still think a todays version of the gondola would be not as much load as original.

Was going to ask the same thing. MBSD doesnt have a lot of dead space.

Please no. I hate the cowboys huge screen. To me it ruins the game expirence. It's to big and you end up just staring at it the whole time.

I disagree. I love the dome's feeling of a massive enclosure when you first walk in. If we plop a huge screen in the middle, I think it would take away from that awe. I would like to see them install new video boards in the EZs. Maybe ones that stretch the length of the advertisments (Allstate, Coke). But then they'd have to figure out where to but those billboards.

We aren't the cowboys... We dont need flat screens to get asses in seats.. (despite this year) our on the field play has been enough to fill the dome weekly

Been to JerryWorld. Those things are obnoxiously huge and detract from the game. Depending on where you are seated you can't avoid them in your line-of-sight
