Pujols and Hamilton

Which fanbase felt worse after The departures of Josh Hamilton and Albert Pujols?
Although rangers fans would think Hamilton was the face of the franchise based on talent and production, it was really Michael young who had poured his heart and soul into the organization his whole career.
As for my redbirds, Since 2000 we had no idea what it felt like to go to the ballpark and watch The number 2 batter and not see #5 on deck. He won 2 championships as a cardinal and would have gotten a statue built beside stan musial. But in the offseason he tests the market for a long term deal which john mozielak was not going to give him and i fully support the GMs decision. We as fans expected ap to come back for another 5 years and ride off into the sunset.
So my question is which fanbase felt worse after this decision and who was more wrong?
Obvious answers if you are under the same circumstances as i am.

Pujols leaving STL was a way bigger deal than Hamilton leaving Texas.

And neither franchise was wrong, imo.

I think there was more bad blood with Hamilton and Texas, but that has more to do with his final three months. The Cardinal fans I know were sad Pujols left, but they supported the front office and didn't really wish Pujols ill. I think Pujols left on largely good terms with the Cardinals and their fans.
Winning a World Series does that.

Pujols by a landslide

The last memories I have of Hamilton wearing a Rangers jersey is basically the final three months, as Baloo said, where he quit on the team and his teammates, had bizarre injuries and was being much more weird than normal.
I think from a financial standpoint it made sense to pass on him. The Cards survived after Pujols. We will see how the Rangers handle it.

the rangers will get blown away by the angels if LAA finds some pitching

98% this. I do appreciate all he did for the organization and the enjoyment he gave me as a Cardinals fan.
There is a petty part of me that resents him for leaving STL for a bigger paycheck because he had such a positive image that wasn't all about the money and has made so much money already (and could have had a special place as perhaps the greatest player in the history of probably the second most storied franchise in baseball).
But when it comes down to it I can't blame him for taking a stupid amount of money if another organization is dumb enough to give him that long of a contract... and I certainly can't blame the Cardinals organization for not matching that kind of deal.

I was surprised he left, but I didnt really care after Day 2. The St. Louis Cardinals are bigger than one player, and I think we showed that in our support of the FO and how we have moved on.

The Astros is the only correct answer.

The STL fanbase. Though they recognized it was a probability Pujols would go they didn't want him to leave.
With Hamilton, a large chunk of the Rangers "fanbase" (most of which is like the Tooth Fairy, it isn't real) were tired of him and his constant excuses for poor performance.
