Never have myself. I always thought that was more of a brandy sniffer. But I sure wouldn't turn one down 
Edit: After quite a few Abita Spring IPA's, drinking an Old Scout Smooth Ambler Rye 7 y/o. Still think this is damn good juice for the price.

I'm not a big fan of drinking whiskey out of brandy snifter. I've even been moving away from my glencairns. It just opens up and becomes more accessible to me out of a rocks/old fashioned glass. Just my preference at this point.
