Blantons is my go to holiday bourbon. No too much to feel guilty about rolling through, but enough to warrant the premium.
For those who have had Jefferson 18, just how much better does it taste over something like Blantons?

Different styles. I find Blanton's to be oh so smooth, while the Jefferson PS 18 has more punch, like Pappy does. Whether it is worth double the cost of the Blanton's is strictly a matter of taste. I liked it enough to have bought 3 bottles of it in the past 2 years, but then again, I was massaging my hurt feelings from largely being shut out of the Pappy chase.

I've been hearing that too much tonight as I'm actually on call at the hospital

As an above poster mentioned, it's different tastes. Jefferson 18 is a wheated bourbon from the Pappy Van Winkle mash. It tastes very similar to the PVW and it's got some similarities b/w the 15 and 20 year likely b/c it's pretty much the same whiskey just bottled at 17 and 18 years. Blanton's is a fine bourbon and very smooth and great in it's own rite. For something different, you won't be disappointed in the Jefferson 18 and it's cheaper than PVW and much easier to get. If you look through my old posts, I've done reviews of the PVW 15, Jefferson 18 and PVW 20 side by side. Below is a recent review of the Jefferson 18 by a site I look at frequently for reviews. Happy Drinking!

It's pretty entertaining to read the first several pages of this and remember the days when you could just walk into almost any higher end liquor store and get this stuff easily.
Unc, how does $100 for a JPS 18 sound now?
