I like 50/50 more than the 60/40. And I have not done a side by side with it and pappy (sounds like a good idea tho). I think it's tasty but idk how pappy like it really is.

Edit could t wait
I don't have any pappys open here but had a lot b. I guess you could pick up of the same characteristics but I wouldn't call them the same. The mix has more burn on the noise but it's also slightly higher inn proof. The lot b is mellow in the noise and taste. I would assume it's called poor mans pappy due to it being wheat from BT so probably has some similarities but not taste the same. I'll check it out once I unpack all my stuff in a cpl months.

It is on St Charles Ave.

theavenuepub.com

They always have a good selection. In addition to what I had, tonight I saw the entire BTAC, Old Rip 10, Lot b, VWFRR, FRLE Single Barrel 13 and 14, FRLE Small batch 12, EH Taylor Tornado

That's where I had my first Hirsch 16 (2nd was Gautreau's)...

Was a birthday treat...it's the Inception of bourbons, like 5 different layers.

Best part was we met up with some tourist who wanted to pick up our round...bartender was like "yo buddy, I know you're trying to be cool but you don't want this on your tab"...proud dude said "I got it.". So my first Hirsch 16 was FO FREE instead of $46.... And effing delicious...

Was the Ruffino's in Laffy...both the Stagg and the Handy were $14...I have either the manager or the guy who printed the menu to thank
