The only time you really feel it's effect is with shooters. It's like things move a little slower because they are so huge or there is a slight amount of lag that throws you off. I feel like I can be more precise on a smaller screen. When I played stuff like Fallout or whatever, it wasn't an issue.

That's what I did. Yes, worth it.

It was easy for me to give up my 55" (gave it to my dad) because my fiance has a 40"+ tv at her place. I do miss watching football games on my beast

I transitioned from one of those flat screen, heavy tube TV's that was 29" to an LCD 720 32" TV to a 46" 1080p LED TV in about a year. The first transition, especially on BF3, was not easy.

I doubt it would make that big of a difference. I dont believe they make ps3 games that are 1080p (they do per Lew) yet but if you are going from 60 Hz to 120 Hz I'm sure it would help.

I know you want tvs with high refresh rates and low input lags, I have been told input lag is really the important spec when it comes to gaming.

I think most ppl who take it very serious just buy monitors bc they have the lowest of the low input lags.

My friend posted this on another board (he is sponsored by machinima): Refresh rate isn't that important. It's all about the input lag. Old CRT's have as close to 0 as you're going to find. Most of us playing on monitors in this thread have 2-5ms of input lag. Nicer HDTV's typically have 40+.

I didn't realize they did.

Although I did find this quote: Current generation video game consoles such as Sony's PlayStation 3, Microsoft's Xbox 360, OUYA and Nintendo's Wii U can display upscaled games and video content in 1080p, although the vast majority of games are rendered at significantly lower resolutions. For all of the consoles, this is done through HDMI connections (in the case of the Xbox 360, HDMI is only available on consoles manufactured after June 2007). Additionally, the upscaled 1080p video is available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 via an analog component/D-Terminal (YPBPR) connection,†‡ as well as the VGA connection on the Xbox 360. On the PlayStation 3, developers must provide specific resolution support at the software level as there is no hardware upscaling support, whereas on the Xbox 360 games can be upscaled using a built in hardware scaler chip. Most games on both consoles however do not run at a native 1080p resolution.
