Then you might want to read this. It's a barrel erosion study from the tests of the M16 just prior to major service adoption. If anyone ever wondered why the military only chrome plates the bore and chamber and not the entire bolt and bolt carrier there is some insight around Page 2 I think.

Bolt-thrust force for AR firing M855 ammo and proper lubrication: ~3000lbf

Bolt-thrust force for AR firing M855 ammo and excessive lubrication that contacts cartridges and chamber: ~6000lbf
