Whats the order?

1. Bolt
2. Barrel
3. Lower/upper (got to make sure to go with a company that is known to have everything in spec)
4. Fire Control group, usually Geissele or ALG (I have been building from parts kits that leave the trigger and buffer tube assemby out so I have that choice and save money)
5. Magazines
6. Red Dot and iron sights
7. Rail system
8. Buffer tube/stock assembly
9. lower parts kit (pins and detents are all basically the same)

Choice of stock and accessories is up to the end user.

I feel like your actions don't match up to this list, but I wont argue. Now that I am done with just about everything but more ammo and a new BCM bolt one day, time to think about that Tavor

and Ruger Gunsite...

and Sig P238...

and 10/22...

I thought I was slowing down with Ammo, but I have had 2 people reach out to me to find them $0.40/rd 7.62. I got 1000 from Midway 2 days ago at $0.27/rd and just signed up for notification e-mails for nearly 40 other items. Every time I order a case, it will be like printing a $100 bill

See original post on the subject, as you descend down the list you can make compromises on what you want. Bolt and barrel should allow the least amount of compromise between quality and price, the lower parts (springs, pins and detents) you can piece together for little or nothing so you can make sacrifices on them.

Found this on another forum kinda summarizes the eotech/aimpoint decision, really cleared it up for me.

quote:

EOTechs were force feed to Crane for SOPMOD Block 2 after two Congressmen from Michagan earmarked their purchase during the early days of the GWOT. Being new and different with battery life being similar to Aimpoint CompM and CompMXD sights, 1000 hours, it was well received. However, when EOTechs started breaking and SOF switched to other sights Crane released a message stating that units could not spend funds to replace optics already issued. Basically forcing them to use what was issued in Block 2. When big Army held it's first M68 Close Combat Optic competition in 2002, Aimpoint submitted the CompM2 with 10,000 hour battery life (8700+ hours in one year). EOTech competed and failed. Army bought 280,000 CompM2 sights. Biggest issues with the CCO were the poorly designed mount from Picatinny and the switch broke too easily. In 2006, big Army held a new competition for the M68 CCO. Aimpoint submitted the CompM4 and CompM4S sights. EOTech competed and failed. The Army chose the CompM4 with the Aimpoint designed and improved QRP2 mount, improved and hardened switch, as well as using AA battery and 80,000 hour battery life. Over 325,000 CompM4 sights were purchased. In 2009, big Army again held a competition for a new M68 CCO. This time the Aimpoint CompM4S was selected for an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract for up to 525,000 sights. The Army bought 265,000 sights from that contract. EOTech competed and failed once again. As in the past competitions, the EOTechs never made it past the 6000 round durability test. The Tier 1 units are slowly switching over to Micro T-1 sights. One unit in particular has purchase well over 500 T-1 sights. Most are 2 MOA versions...bought long before commercially available.

I've had my eotech for years and have never had an issue...

I think I'm gonna save up for a trijicon for my new rifle though.

That makes my blood boil. Motherfricking military industrial complex, earmarks and old-fashioned politics getting our soldiers killed.

I was thinking Eotech was going to be my next red dot, but not now. frick them.
