both of em look great.. btw, i have a question... if it's an easy answer, please do... I'm an old hunter with knowledge on "hunging guns"... all this ar platform stuff is new to me in the last month. that being said, i understand about the 223, 7.62 etc., but i don't understand when y'all say "black out"... Is this just another load of a certain caliber or what?

ok, gotcha... i would assume that it would take it's own mag, or would it fit a 223 mag?

The 300 was designed to improve upon the imperfections of the 5.56 for short barrel subsonic guns. The 223 does not run very reliably in a short gas system and is hard as hell to suppress. The subsonic 223 is has terrible ballistics. The 5.56 also has less than effective ballistics past 500 meters. The 300 fixes most of this. It has a very effective subsonic round inside 100 meters and suppression is very effective. It runs great in guns with gas systems shorter than 10 inches. It has similar ft lb knock down at 700 meters as the 5.56 has at 500.

All of this plus the 300BLK was designed to do this out of a 16" barrel where the 5.56 was designed for a 20" barrel.

I thought long and hard about it. They had a 10 mag limit. I have some backordered with DSG for $12/each and Midway should have some next week. I'm gonna wait on those.
