Other than Parkview, I don't really see the new district as any more of a challenge for UHigh.

This is correct. U High should also be better next year. They nearly lost their entire OL last year and did quite well for themselves. They lose their starting QB this year, but he wasn't very good anyways.

Wow a lot of talent on those lists.

When did Kenneth Santa Marina commit to tulane?
Anyone have any idea where Anthony Taylor (Curtis) and Preston Winget (Mandeville) are looking at going?

Thanks

Committed yesterday, actually. Johnson is doing work on the local recruiting trail.

I haven't seen any of Taylor's film, but I've been wondering why he doesn't have any offers with his size (6'6-6'7).

Regarding Winget, I'm actually friends with his older brother who has told me he's been getting a lot of interest from ULL and Houston.

Is this your team? I thought there was a 1-3A all metro team in Baton Rouge and then a 4-5A team too? Last year that's how it was done.

Thanks, I see now. It's not Baton Rouge Advocate All Metro team. I can't argue with the team this Nola website picked. There are a lot of good players there. It's all subjective anyway. The Advocate does a better job of covering these Baton Rouge teams. I prefer their All Metro Team when it comes out. They give more detail and stats. Lutcher is not included in the Baton Rouge area on the Advocate team.

The Advocate is an overall better paper than the TP, regardless... ESPECIALLY for sports coverage.

The only in depth coverage the TP puts into anything is Saints coverage (understandably so), but it makes a pedestrian attempt at everything else, IMO.

They just started covering BR High school about 3 months ago. I like their coverage.

Eh.. the NOLA.com coverage has improved, I will say that much. But with the recent cutback to 3-day-a-week circulation, the quality of the print coverage has decreased.

Lyn Clark is a Tulane commit and I think Luke Jackson is as well.

The new orleans team should have the wide receiver from Mandeville listed. i think he was the leading receiver in the new orleans area. i can't think of his name though...

HE gained 341 yards against ECA. Have to guess that was one of the better performances in the playoffs this year. Not his fault the district was down this year-2 years ago it might have been the toughest overall in 2A.

Considering they have not done much winning their coach CJ is doing great recruiting. Even if Santa Marina did not have current offers (committable as some say) to Bama, LSU, ect - he is still a prospect that is huge for them. He could go to better programs. Tulane could be pretty good sooner than people think.
