They could be so good. I'm excited for a few more years and experience with Spags

Honestly we've been a middle of the pack d since the Eagles game. All we need to go 12-4, 13-3 next year.

With Spags zone D, I think Jenkins would be great at Cb. Excited about Mack and C. White if healthy. Lofton has been a beast. Hawthorne will improve with a full year and next summer learning SLB.

Our defense really isn't bad. It's a few bad apples, or just one bad/busted coverage here and there that give up huge yards and points.

Our front 7 are pressuring QB's much more. And these guys in the secondary are actually swarming to the ball carriers looking to make tackles, that and they are displaying more ball hawk capability than we have seen all season.

We still need more time to figure out this zone defense on the back end though. Too often we allow guys to run free over the middle, or our Corners pass off guys and the Safeties aren't getting there in time.

I'd like to see early part of our draft focused on getting pass rush specialist. If we can consistently get pressure with our front four, we'll be much improved. They'll make the entire defense better...

Breaking up the worst safety combo in the NFL has helped

For sure, that and Mack/White/Bush have improved and helped out in coverage.

Playing Casillas less, and sitting Shanle also helped our defense a great deal.

Isa and Bush have made more plays this year than Harper and Jenkins and they've probably played 1/5 of the snaps

So, you think he has the range to play CB with his 4.6 speed? Did you guys just magically remember that experiment ended quick because he sucked at CB too.

What a bunch of Wafflers here.
How many of you were calling for his head a week ago?
He is a proven commodity. It's an entirely new system. This season was killed by Roger from the get-go so it was a prime year to gain valuable experience. Spags also got screwed out of a draft pick by Roger this year.
Next year, with SP back, we goin' to da Ship!

man-man he didn't work to well. I think his physical nature would be great in a zone scheme like Spags has. Speed not quiet as important.

Problem is with our zone scheme too many of our secondary members have yet to figure out how to play it, and we are like 18 weeks into the season including the pre-season.

There really isn't an excuse like more time they will get it, some guys just suck at it and we honestly can't reasonably expect to see improvement from them.

Good news is that we have seen a step up in passes defended, interceptions, tackles, and less busted coverages with the influx of 2nd/3rd string players this season.
