ABC news' take on school shooting

Sitting here watching the news with Mrs REBBEER and they are understandably talking about nothing other than the school shooting in Connecticut. Then ABC news puts this crap up on the screen.
My question is, what the HELL does this have to do with one deranged person's actions?
Sorry for the BIG pic, uploaded from my phone.

Zero. It's pinning the actions of one person on an inanimate object. That's their irrational style.

It'll be a higher percentage after today.

I figured it was higher than that.

The sad thing is that 53% of homes don't have even one single gun. This may be the wrong place to ask this question, but could you imagine growing up without a gun in the house. To me, it's un-American.

I disagree and think it's VERY American to have a choice whether or not to have a gun/guns in one's home.
We here have plenty for those who don't.

I believe it is unAmerican as well. I have been infatuated with guns since I was a young child. I couldn't imagine a life without guns.

so many people in this world see guns as this scary thing that kills stuff, thats why you see what you do in the media. they have never been taught that its a tool plain and simple, don't be scared of it, but respect it. my dad was an electrical contractor when i was growing up. i worked for him on weekends and during the summer. i was afraid of electricity until he taught me that as long as you respected it, it wouldn't hurt me. he applied those same things when i was younger and he was teaching me how to handle my 1st shotgun.

I've been seeing this pic thrown out there a lot lately

It really pisses me off when a wacko does this. I wish someone had been there with a gun of there own and stopped him. Now we will have to hear about gun control for the next 6 months.

Well said.
I was taught by my father how to handle his guns and how to be safe with them from an early age. He always told us if we wanted to go shoot, whether he was home or not, to go get one and go in the pasture and shoot whatever we wanted.
I know today is a different time, but I have taught my 8 year old to respect guns and know how to handle them. We live in a subdivision, so it's obvious that he can't just go shoot everyday after school, but he knows where they are and he's not afraid to handle them. He also knows not to let other kids handle them because you never know if they were taught gun safety by their dads.
Nothing pisses me off more than when I see a grown man telling his kids to never ever handle a gun. All they are doing is teaching them fear and gives them a chance to be rebellious and go handle something dad said was off limits.

yep, but that doesn't fit their template, "guns are bad, not the person. sure he was bat shite crazy, but if he hadn't had a gun this wouldn't have happened".

fear
key word. this is how they (libs and media) control the narrative.

This gets on my nerves more than anything.
I hate when someone who NEVER handles guns gets nervous and tells you to put it down when you pick it up, like you don't know what you're doing. Ain't that some BS?

I couldn't imagine growing up without guns. Im teaching my kids how to use guns responsibly. I remember when I was at an xray convention a few years ago, me and some classmates all roomed together. I didn't want to leave my gun in the truck overnight in a city I didn't know, so I put it in my bag to bring in the hotel. One of the guys I was rooming with almost had a shite fit when I set my gun on the table while taking my stuff out. He and I had a long discussion about guns and their use. It was obvious he had never been taught that its just a tool. I had never experienced his reaction before.
