...joining the SEC could hurt our recruiting in E. Texas. BS!! So far, we are ranked 6th in Rivals with NO Texas kids on our list. ZERO...NONE!! Now, you can easily see that over the last 5-7 years we average 3-4 (and occasionally more) kids from Texas. In addition, Texas A&M is ranked 7th...for now...their highest ranking in several years per Rivals. That is all.

their recruiting success has nothing to do with them joining the SEC this year. They would still have sumlin as their coach, a heisman winning qb, and probably be 11-1, if not undefeated if they had stayed in the big 12. And besides, putting a beatdown on texas and that inexcusable defense would have paid even more recruiting dividends than the sec talking point has, easily. texas sucking + a good A&M team = a lot tougher texas recuiting for us, it doesnt matter who's in what conference.

This is based on them getting commitments from 34 kids because they had a tiny class last year

besides Seals-Jones, who else were we after from Texas? Please break it down for me? I'm sure you are Shea or Mike or Gino....

Christian LaCouture is really a TX kid. This is not a strong year in TX and the staff only went after a few of the big names. You rather the staff reach for TX kids over bringing in studs like Herron, Neal, and Gilmore?

I think TAMU joining the SEC is going to affect LSU in the long run more than Bama, Georgia, Florida, Auburn etc.

Seeing that LSU/TAMU are basically neighbors and all...

It's not really that much of a stretch.

Anyone who knows anything about recruiting should have seen this coming. I don't think you are crazy but I do think you have a strong grasp for the obvious. ATM having a great season and Heisman winning QB certainly helped their recruiting efforts along w 34 scholarships. Here's your +1 for the day!

Congrats, good thing you don't over react or anything. LSU got Texas guys in the 80's-90's when we were bad and A&M was good. Just off the top of my head we got Kendall Cleveland, Odell Beckham (sr) and probably the best NFL player we've produced in the last 20 year, Alan Faneca. LSU is good shape with 3-4 big recruits in Texas in 2014, if we don't get any of them of 2015 guys, then worry about it. But does it really matter where the guys are coming from as long as we get them?

why are you whining when it is obvious you haven't even looked into why we signed noone from tejas this year. in fact, maybe you should look into why we haven't signed hardly anyone from there is the last few years. a hint; coaching changes, recruiting service fiasco, etc.

however, we have signed big recruits from other areas.

a&m currently has 34 commits. 34. they won't be able to keep them all by the way.

1. You were not the only one who said that.
2. Texas is a huge state with many universities. It will be okay.
3. We had no imput on the decision
