You need to get in to an outfit. You can't go solo and expect to make much impact.
An organized group can pull off some amazing stuff.
We had a squad last night park a Sunderer on a mountain and pull 4 Burster Max's and 4 Engineers and completely denied the enemies ability to bring air to that fight for 30 minutes. It was a blast.

I keep trying to skeet like Tribes 
But I'm having a shite ton of fun with this game, even though the credits accumulate super slow...it's obvious they are trying to tinker with the free to play model.

Oh yeah. They want you to spend money, but you never have to. And you don't NEED to in order to be effective.

Look man, I get where sic is coming from on this. It's not like you are in Braveheart with 1400 players all charging each other, but you might even be lucky enough to see the opposing tank that smites you from afar.

At full graphics I'm getting anywhere between 20 and 60 FPS with:
i7 2600k
16gb RAM
GTX 560ti

Sounds about right, the only FPS drop I ever got was in really big battles. They've come a long way with optimizing.

Mines a good bit worse than that though . I hope I'm able to run it, system requirements says I can't due to my graphics card (integrated lol), but they are wrong a lot.

Played this game. It was a little choppy, but very playable. Didn't really know what the frick I was doing. I did blow up a vehicle though
