The NFL spent 3 years investigating the illegal bounty story yet it takes players to participate in an illegal bounty program not the Coaches/front office. So if there wasn't enough evidence to prove the players participated in the illegal bounty program then how can the NFL say there was a bounty program in place.

The league never said such a thing. In fact, Tagliabue said the exact opposit. He said he did find evidence that Vilma and co participated in conduct detrimental to the league, BUT that isn't why they were suspended. Vilma go the full year because he allegedly put up $10k...something Tagliabue could not find enough evidence to back up, thus the suspencion was lifted.

He isn't saying $10k wasn't put up, just that Vilma didn't do it.

It's interesting and quite telling that the league let off the players, who have recourse via the NFLPA, but slammed the coaching staff and management who have no recourse via a coaches union.

The coaches through out the league need to see if they can form a union to protect themselves from an over reaching commissioner in the future.
