If you are real worried a hanging light written the aluminum flashing clipped top the opening and a blanket in that igloo is money. They love that light

I agree. That's what we do w/ our outside dog. OTOH, don't forget that one day our "heat producing, energy inefficient" light bulbs will be replaced by those crappy, curly Q bulbs that produce neither light NOR heat and cost 20X more....... Sorry, just had to rant.......

I'd say below 30 degrees, but we usually take our golden retriever in when it gets in the 30's anyway

Unless its 30 below its never too cold for normal working dogs to be outside. Chihuahua and such aren't considered normal dogs.

I have a border collie that has never been inside, she's 10 years now. She won't go in her house just sleeps on the porch.

If there is ice on the pond you can bet my big dumb dog will be out there jumping on it and head butting it. I have only put a vest on our dog once, north MS in the mid teens.

They start trotting in circles, bring them in.

I had a German Shepard when I lived in Montana. My wife always felt like it was too cold for her outside in wintertime(she did come in at night). Til we went for a hike and she jumped in a creek with snow and ice piled up on the banks and rocks. She could get in the garage when we weren't home and normally rather be outside during the day.

I'd say less than 30. Mine goes in the grass in the sun and just lays there. She loves it when it's cold.
