If you are real worried a hanging light written the aluminum flashing clipped top the opening and a blanket in that igloo is money. They love that light

I agree. That's what we do w/ our outside dog. OTOH, don't forget that one day our "heat producing, energy inefficient" light bulbs will be replaced by those crappy, curly Q bulbs that produce neither light NOR heat and cost 20X more....... Sorry, just had to rant.......

If there is ice on the pond you can bet my big dumb dog will be out there jumping on it and head butting it. I have only put a vest on our dog once, north MS in the mid teens.

I had a German Shepard when I lived in Montana. My wife always felt like it was too cold for her outside in wintertime(she did come in at night). Til we went for a hike and she jumped in a creek with snow and ice piled up on the banks and rocks. She could get in the garage when we weren't home and normally rather be outside during the day.
