So if Payton leaves Brees is through?

Unless we hire another genius, Brees will be very good qb but he won't be the elitist of the elite.

and THAT is why we didn't need to pay him all that money... Peyton and Brady can flourish with or without a coach.

No that is why you pay him and PAYton all that money. You keep them here, you keep them together and you keep winning as much as possible. Peyton and Brady have never played without a head coach. And have never won super bowls with 2 different head coaches.

Definitely arguable. Brady has the best coach in the league (and probably the best ever when it's all said and done) and has for his entire career. We will never know what he would be like without him.

ETA: I bet if they lost him for a season they'd be about where we are right now.

Does Jim Caldwell really count as a head coach? Really?

Yes he does and glad that you can point out that peyton couldn't win the super bowl without a better head coach.

Whats laughable about this whole thing is people conveniently forgot the CSP already signed the extension the first time, so he obviously still wanted to be here. If he was interested in Dallas, why sign the extension? Why not just let the contract run out?

Aside from ESPN, has there been any indication coming off the record setting year last year, and seeing how the team, staff, and ownership has stood by him this offseason/season, that Coach Payton does not want to be here?

the same john fox that nearly won the super bowl with jake delhomme as his quarterback against belichek and the brady patriots? Now john fox isn't a damn good football coach?

Brees wouldn't have to force throws and put the team on his back if the offense didn't HAVE to score on every single possession just to tread water. It's hard to win when your defense allows a TD every possession and your special teams unit gives up 400 yards +.

He also beat the Pittsburgh Steelers with Tebow as quarterback...in the playoffs.
