There is a small village here in Cincinnati I have to go through to get to work every day that installed two speed cameras about a month ago. The entire village is about a mile long and you have to go from 40 down to 25 mph through town. In the first two weeks there were over 15000 citations mailed to people. I have not received a citation, but there are no less than 10 I could name at work who received citations for 26 in a 25.
This is just ludicrous if you ask me. It's tough to maintain a cars speed below 25 mph due to gearing/ engine condition/ lack of cruise control/ etc. needless to say this has raised a big stink in Cinci and there are already about 10 class action suit in the works.

And giving foljs tickets for 5 over the limit sounds unreasonable but what good is a limit if it isnt enforced?

To clarify it was at night at about 11:30 and he pulled me over because he said I swerved. He told me to get out of the car and he noticed a spot on my shorts that he thought looked like a spilled drink. It was a grease stain that got there. At the time, I was a fry cook at a local restaurant. When I told him what it was he then issued a field sobriety test which I passed with flying colors. He got pissed and then yelled about me doing 39 in a 35 and how he had to write a ticket. That guy was an ass.

I've found that if you don't let your insurance lapse or change companies, they'll probably never know about it.
I got a 74 in a 70 in Washington LA on I-49 once. They did knock it down to a expired sticker, but fine the same... actually I've done that a few times... Make a polite phone call to the city attorney or whoever and explain your situation... but don't sweat it either way.

Just pay it. I got one for 50 in a 45 in Dodson. They'll take it off your record most likely.
Ive gotten four tickets:
82 in 75
50 in 45
41 in 35
67 in 55 (Didnt know the speed limit change)
All have been taken off my record.

I got one there too. I was doing 55 in a 45 but it changed to 45 out of nowhere and for no reason. The cop looked like a mall cop and seemed like he hated his entire existence. Cant blame him for having to live near Waterproof.

You can probably call in and ask them to reduce to a non-moving violation and pay the fine. I've found the govt office really does not care what they call it as long as they get their money.

Shouldn't have said that. I was bragging that i hadn't gotten one in a few years and that same night, i got one for going 35 in a 25 on highland on campus. Had no idea it changed because the sign wasn't reflective and couldn't be seen at night.

They just log the ticket as a non-moving violation so it doesn't show as a speeding ticket on your record. Insurance companies will adjust your rate based on moving violations: speeding, reckless operation, etc. they don't care about non-moving violations like seatbelt and expired inspection stickers.
