i had to stop listening after obama was elected... started going downhill FAST during the bail out/market crash shite of '08..... sad really but they know what it takes to make $$$$ and that means being a conservative radio host these days...

Yea they suck, but so does every other radio talk show I've heard. The show consists of Obama, Mexican's, harassing female callers, dick jokes, current events in that order Pandora FTW.

And their shtick doesn't even go along with their new format. A black dude and gay guy would never be on a show like theirs.

Howard listener means listen to old replays and no live shows. Howard stopped trying years ago. Use to listen to him but Opie and Anthony along with Ron and fez blow anything out there away these days

He's live Mon-Wed Howard gets a lot of flack for his "gross/hornball" mentality, but I think his interviewing skills are the best in the business.

Are you talking about Walton and Johnson? If so, they're shite changed drastically when Obama got elected.

Try were on 93.7 yesterday here in Houston. Was it their last day or something?
Clear Channel dropped the hammer on them yesterday (along with a bunch of other people - CC is run by a bunch of sweet guys who fire people around Christmas). Their flagship was 93.7 "The Arrow" in Houston through yesterday's show - but today, apparently, it was Steve Fixx with no mention of W&J. W&J were on 96.9 in Alexandria and Bayou 95.7 in New Orleans (I can confirm those that I listened to - based on what they said, they must have been on all their syndicated channels, just not the flagship) this morning - at the closing, they said to check the website/twitter/facebook to keep up with the upcoming changes.

Sorry, no...not like they do now. I've been listening to that show off and on since they started when I was 12. This didn't because as huge a portion of their show until the past decade or so. Even when Clinton was in office it wasn't like this. Politics was discussed like any other topic...it was never the focus.

Way back in the early days of W&J, they used to buy "Leave it to Beaver" bits from Howard Stern's show. Then, they used to claim that Howard listened to tapes of their show to get ideas. True story as told by W: W&J went to Howard's radio station in NYC one year and brought a cake for Howard's birthday. They didn't make it past the receptionist. I think this was the start of their bitter feelings toward Howard. Also, in the '80s, W&J got an offer to host their radio show in Dallas. They abandoned NO and used to say insulting things about the people of NO and Louisiana to get ratings in Dallas. It didn't work, their ratings blew, and they had to scurry back to NO.

Agreed. If I didn't know any better, I'd almost say it was so intentionally over the top that they actually don't believe the things they are saying. It's like they are liberal moles trolling us all in an effort to paint a poor picture of conservatives/republicans. I mean, if even the most die hard right-wingers can't stand it, who can? But it's not funny or insightful enough to be satire (Colbert), and not intelligent or thought-provoking enough to be commentary, so instead it's just plain shitty. Hurts me to say it, too. I grew up with those guys.
Really couldn't have put it any better. I used to listen to it all the time in the truck with my dad growing up, but never listened to them on my own. One day recently I rode somewhere with my dad early in the morning and I seriously spent about 10 minutes thinking they were being Colbert-esque satire, but thinking to myself "didn't these guys used to be pretty conservative types?" until I realized no, they weren't being satirical, they were just that fricking terrible. And their characters don't make any sense in the new format, either.
