fwiw, it may be the pussy thing to do but just telling his woman to STFU and walking away probably would have been the best thing to do.

no doubt that's what he should have done but I don't think that changes the fact that he was murdered

Thank you. If the guy had gotten out of his vehicle unprovoked and stabbed the other guy, it would have been 1st degree murder. But because of the arguing and physical fighting that the wife egged on, it's 2nd degree and therefore no death penalty.

Nope. But it's also incredibly stupid for adults to get into an altercation over being called names. By an obvious thug. In the French Quarter. At 3 AM. And I bet the jury thinks the same way and isn't 100% sympathetic towards the wife. The dude is definitely going to prison, and self defense is totally laughable. But, the wife shares some guilt here IMO.
