Well the Tea Party's name right now may not be very good to associate with these days. I think the Tea Party got hijacked a long time ago and strayed from their original intentions.
As for Ron Paul libertarians, hopefully nominating someone like Rand Paul will help jump start the libertarian movement in the GOP and bring in the libertarians to the GOP in droves. I'm one of them FWIW.

This really surprised the hell out of me. Hell it surprised most people.
But really I think Obama won because he had the most superior ground game we've ever seen. If the GOP can fix and improve their ground game, they will be in better shape. I would prefer they do that along with tweaking their platform.

The takers now outnumber the producers; and with the inevitable shrinking (Obama's strategy) of the private economy...any political party that tries to cut government services will be beat like a drum.
It will be the unpredictable dynamics of an economic crash that determines the future State. Throw out the Constitution...throw out the Lib big-government mechanism, which will lose power because it will be penniless...and expect that political (people) power will go back to where it came from. Local.
But who knows...possible they try the One World Government route...which would last about as long as a snoball in hell.

He goes off the tracks at 12:30 with the voter suppression bit - stopped listening there. This also undercuts his previous argument (just 1 or 2 minutes earlier) about how the GOP establishment refused to talk to the libertarian wing of the party - thus the party wasn't energized - thus turnout was down.

I think the point of a libertarian 3rd party at this point isn't necessarily to establish a permanent 3rd party, but is there to wake the Reps the frick up and pull them in the libertarian direction.

I would love to see them replaced by Michael Berry, Mike Church (from Mandeville), and Andrew Wilkow and see more frequent appearances by Judge Napolitano and John Stossel.

I listened to the rant. It's slightly off putting to hang up on someone and no let them speak. I didn't like him badgering the Bush supporter. I liked his message though. If he toned down a few things he might be able to get a bigger following.
Libertarians and purity is what pisses me off. I'm conservative and libertarian but the Ron Paul people jump the shark. I'd still like to shame the takers at any chance I get.

Both Romney and Obama had more votes than McCain in 2008.
McCain 2008 - 59,948,323
Romney 2012 - 60,781,275
