Christmas tree issue

Since buying my tree 5 days ago, the thing has not sucked up any water. Would taking it down and giving the bottom a fresh cut fix this?

That's where I would start. Make sure to cut at an angle.

Was it cut the first time? If so how long between the cutting and the time it went in the water? It might have resealed if you took to long to get it in the water...

Yeah, I'd cut it. You don't want that thing drying out in your house. Thing will be a major fire hazard.

Probably too late, but yeah, cut it. Ours was bought the Sunday of Thanksgiving and is still drinking.
