I DJ as a side job, my headphones cost more than Beats and certainly sound better. Poor troll attempt is poor. *EDit* actually my headphones cost the same, but do sound better. George I just went back & read the last page, my bad, the page didn't show your post before mine when I posted. You seem to be a level headed laid back guy here, pretty likable guy from your overall posting. I just wanted to say my post you replied to wasn't actually aimed at you. I just wanted to touch on how important status symbols are for 13 year olds. Wasn't really supposed to be about us adults or the overall quality.

A) They are fake. B) Who cares, your spoiled little one will not know the difference. C) My friend got back from Iraq with a fake pair. Sounds just like the real deal.

Get your daughter a real pair of Beats. There are better headphones and cheaper headphones out there; however, everyone deserves a nice pair of headphones. Get her Beats so she doesn't look like a loser.

They're fake. Don't be trashy and settle on fake items. F that, I would never. How are they spoiled for getting a pair of Beats? You'd be surprised at the prices for upper-range headphones, then. I'm sure they don't sound like the real deal either. It's a really nice gift, treat your daughter.

All good man, I was just messing with ya. The sound quality is good, the look is sleek and I stay trendy. It's all a win for me.

I don't have kids so I really couldn't tell you what to do. I would like to say that $300 headphones aren't needed. They sound better, sure. At what point do you pay for the name vs. quality? But does your daughter want them because she knows they are great headphones or because they are expensive headphones? If you got the money to spend, and she really wants them, go for it pops. I personally would not buy fakes, especially knowing they are fake. You can either afford/can't afford real things. No sense in faking it. Best example is people getting fake Oakleys. Sure they look ok for a day, but they just aren't quality glasses. At all. This is the nicest post I have ever made on TD. It must be past my bedtime.

I have a pair of the Beats Solo headphones and I like them. Alot better than anything I've ever owned before. I could give two shits about how cool they are but, the few people I know that have them gave them a thumbs up so I gave them a try.

Unfortunately, yes. There is a move afoot, led by Neil Young, to market a better, fuller sounding music format much closer to analog's "warmer" sound. Hope it pans out.
