The big buzz this morning at the winter meetings is: Watch out for Texas on Zack Greinke.

Texas fans fap away. Hopefully Hamilton, Greinke, and some others sign today, Wednesday is usually the busiest day, right?

Must not fap, but instead will do a little of this and

As long as we keep Profar, I don't care who we have to give up to get Upton

Holland.

Won't be the closer. Kelvin Herrera will be.

I've read somewhere that no one wants AJ Pierzynski bc he's likely to be suspended for PEDs. Not sure if it's true or not.

Also, I may be in the minority, but I like what Boston is doing. Those short contracts aren't going to kill them. Napoli and Victorino are good clubhouse guys. They just need to add some pitching, and they have the resources to do it.

Have you lost your damn mind?

Holland, who will turn 27 on November 20, made 67 appearances for the Royals, finishing 7-4 with a 2.96 ERA, 16 saves and 91 strikeouts in 67.0 innings. The North Carolina native overcame early season struggles and a stint on the disabled list by posting a 2.08 ERA over his final 60 outings. He recorded 16 saves in 18 chances after taking over the closer’s role on July 31, including 13 straight conversions from August 1 to September 9. Holland finished third among American League relievers in strikeouts, trailing teammate Tim Collins (93) and Steve Delabar, who notched 92 with Seattle and Toronto. The 91 strikeouts rank sixth in single-season franchise history among relievers. Holland held opponents to two home runs over 67.0 innings for a ratio of 0.27 per nine innings, second-best in the American League among pitchers who threw at least 65.0 innings. He became the first Kansas City reliever with seven or more wins in a season since 2000.

What makes you think he won't be? Or are you just trolling? Serious insight is welcome.

+1 for their offense

Lineup will be solid: Ells, Pedroia, Ortiz, Victorino, Napoli, Middlebrooks, Salty, and Gomes. I think Gomes will be a nice bat in Fenway. Check out his home run chart

Few holes defensively with Salty, Napoli, and what they'll likely end up with in LF (Gomes?), but the rest are all above average in the field.

Their SP is an entirely different story: Lester, Buchholz, Doubront (nice back end guy). There just isn't much else there. Can't imagine they want to try the Bard conversion again. Pen is good: Bailey, Bard, Aceves, Miller

I read at the end of last season that the Royals are high on Hererra as their closer of the future. He had the highest average fastball in the majors last season and he pairs it with like a mid 80s changeup. Doesn't walk anyone and doesn't give up the long ball.

I wasn't shitting on Holland. He is good, too. Either way, he will be closing somewhere. He does give up more hits and walks then you want in a closer. But there are far worse closers out there.

Someone should trade for him this year, IMO. He is a fricking steal, at the league min, having missed arbitration by 2 weeks this year.

I've been saying there is a chance this can happen. If it does, I think Holland and/or Cruz will be traded for depth or another pitcher.

But the top 3 of the rotation would be one of the top in the MLB with Greinke, Darvish, and Harrison. And the outfield would be one of the best with Hamilton, Upton, and a rotation of Gentry/Murphy/Martin.

Jeff Keppinger has, in a thin market for infielders, been a hot property this week. Now Jon Heyman reports that the White Sox are going to sign him for three years. No word yet on the money, though yesterday it was said that he wanted a $12 million deal for three years.

Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports that McLouth has agreed to a one-year deal with the Orioles, who were said to be talking to Nick Swisher as a potential outfield replacement. Of course, giving McLouth a one-year deal doesn’t preclude the Orioles from trying to upgrade the lineup or at least bringing in some more depth in case he resumes being the guy who hit terribly in 2010, 2011, and the first half of 2012.

One of the teams involved on the Nick Swisher talks: The Cleveland Indians, who missed out on Shane Victorino.

As long as Swisher stays away from the Rangers, I am happy. Could never pull for that douche
