don't know any Goheagens. I do know Goheagen canal at the Rigolets.

bayou manchac - used to connect to the river.... voila...
several other places river water easily reached the ponchartrain basin....
as for blocking or altering mother natures flow.. isn't that what got us in this mess in the first place?
