Eh not really. Things change and I have no doubt what was told to me was valid at the time. The board might have got involved and decided to push for Gundy or maybe Gundy change his mind or maybe he was offered more. Who knows. These types of things are very dynamic.
However everyone can feel free to keep berating me. It's really hurting my feelings.

Miles produced something Petrino or any Arkansas coach never could: 2 SEC titles and a BCS Title. Miles also has another BCS victory. Something else no Arkansas coach can say.

To be fair, Long played this close to the vest, and blindsided a lot of Arkansas boosters. The info I was getting from one was that no one had any confidence that Long could make a name coach...any name coach...say yes.
Butch Davis was then going to be the white knight in this scenario.
