yep, an 11-1 Tech, with the #1 offense, and only loss by 2 to Texas A&M would be in NIU's place

You win whatever bowl you can get into. That would be a good step in the right direction to start with. Even if it is ulm, you win the game and take the momentum into the next year

Help me understand, why do you get joy from the anguish over their post season exclusion?

Winning a bowl game wouldn't make you feel more relevant?

sure, they had an outside shot. but to blame your HC for missing a bowl when you go 9-3? that =

Where's Tech going to hide when ULM joins the CUSA in a couple of years?

I laugh at that statement not bc it's necessarily wrong but by that logic every coach in the country save 2 is to blame for their team not being in a better bowl.

Yeah it's true but it ignores the specific circumstances that the team was in and the choice the AD made.

is CUSA really that big of a step up from the WAC ? aren't there a few old Sun Belt teams jumping in there along with some of your old conference because the Big East raided CUSA ?

But playing in the Liberty Bowl accomplishes that?

Tech played 3 teams this year with winning records. They lost allthree. They did beat Rice who was 6-6, and another team who was 5-7. No other team they played/beat had more than 2wins. Most finished 1-11. So there you have it.
