They have talent now

Perhaps, but that "talent" is like 5-19 in the SEC in the last 3 yrs.

Granted that looking for their 4th HC since 08 is a nightmare type thing for a program, but I just wonder if they haven't let the program slip to far to be saved without 1st suffering a lot more bleeding.

I completely agree with that article and would add this: why in the hell didn't the SEC "protect" the SEC runner up LSU in '05? We had the same record and were a top ten team then just like UGA this year.

So sad, and very true. I'm afraid LSU will never receive the respect and consideration that Bama does. This has been going on a long time.

If the champ game is becoming too much of a liability for the SEC well I say...

We invented this damn confernce championship game and we can burn it to the ground if we want to!

So why does the SEC, or Slive, feel the need to step in and mess with it?

Didn't you hear his press conference? Because the Midget King decreed it should be so.

the Tigers deserved to have the SEC say, “Hey, Aggies, you’re the new kids here. You’re going to the Chick-fil-A. LSU has been at the adults’ table for 80 years. We’re going to take care of them first.”

This is what LSU fans should have an issue with.

That was the one stupid point in an otherwise sound article, and you were attracted to it like a fly to poop! How long someone's been in the conference should have nothing to do with it; it should be about merit and bling. The Tigers have the merit, Aggies have the bling. The bowl selected the Aggies. Tough luck.

The best point was how we got stuck with Georgia while Bama got Kentucky. That is a legitimate sore point.

Come on Roger. You don't believe that-you are just trolling this thread. UTe hasn't been worth a crap since they fired Phat Phil, and UGA has been a tough out since Richt has been there.

But I dont buy this conspiracy by SEC office to give Bama an easy schedule. They just lucked out

Kind of like Bugeyes is always randomly picked to referee all the Gumps big games? Yeah, sure.

Wasn't the permanent other division opponent supposed to go away after league expansion? I know the Alabama-Tenn 3rd Sat. in October tradition screwed things up but I thought the rest of the league got their way and axed it.

I would like for LSU to look out for LSU. I believe we should explore leaving the SEC and turning independent. We could then have control of our own schedule much like Notre Dame does.

but the SEC wanted to protect SEC Championship Game loser Georgia.

I keep seeing this or a variation of it thrown around but have yet to see any "proof" or something liking the Birmingham office to this. So,,, link?

How'd that work out for Georgia Tech?

Is that really bad treatment from the SEC?
When did we play in a bowl game with higher selection priority than someone with a better record, or equal record who beat LSU? There are 3 BCS games in your list that the SEC had nothing to do with. LSU earned those on the playing field. For the others please tell me where LSU should have gone except for SEC lobbying?

That's what happens when you don't put people away that you should. If LSU were to have hammered Arkansas like they should and Ole Piss.... Totally different Bowl Scenario. Chick Fil A is for all U Les lovers

It's Alabama's conference. They run it and they get what they want.

LSU can solve the problem by winning. We had a chance to beat Bama but coaching bonehead calls cost the victory. We get by Auburn 12-10 and Bama kills them 49-0.It took the LSU offensive staff until the Bama game to realize there wasn't a law against including the TE's & RB's in the passing game.Let's face it, we earned what we've got.If you don't like the results, then change what you are doing.Quit bitching and go win.

It's not their brand, it's their QB. He's pretty good..... (though LSU did a good job against him, he is going to sell some tickets and generate some interest in watching the game on TV....)

do people really care about this?
i don't turn a game on to watch one person play, and i won't go to a game just to see one person play

There are three teams with 11 wins (at least) in the conference, and A&M boasts a Heisman candidate and looked "flashier" than LSU at the end of the year. It's understandable what happened.

Right. And A&M played TWO FCS teams..FREAKIN TWO in one season: Sam Houston St. and South Carolina St. Two gimmie wins.

of course it is. But you never really know for sure what will be favorable when schedules are made. UGA may suck, UT may be great next year.

Whoa. There is enough info to get a pretty good idea in a one year time span.

LSU: Florida, @Geogria

Bama: Tenn, @ Kentucky (THREE open dates!...But I think they are missing one in their schedule so it SHOULD be filled..)

TX: Missouri, Vandy (home) (OOC: Sam Houston, Rice, SMU, New Mexico)

In a one year timespan, Geogria won't decline that much (back to back SEC Champion game), Kentucky won't improve (new coach and little talent/recuriting), and Vandy might lose their coach.
