In a way, LSU can blame itself. Not because it didn’t lobby hard to get into the Cotton or Outback (it really did), but because the Tigers have no flashy marquee player like Johnny Football, having been forced to punt the Honey Badger in August. They have no flashy end-of-season wins, having closed after the Alabama loss by beating Mississippi State by 20 (it could have been much closer), Ole Miss by six and Arkansas by seven.
There are three teams with 11 wins (at least) in the conference, and A&M boasts a Heisman candidate and looked "flashier" than LSU at the end of the year. It's understandable what happened.

Now, the scheduling BS is another thing. No way we should have to play a national power from the east, Florida, every freaking yr while another west team gets to play what has been a cup cake for years.

Yeah, I am tired of the excuses. LSU isn't getting bad treatment from the SEC regarding bowl selection.

No, A&M is a common opponent. LSU has to beat Georgia at Georgia and Florida to be on the same footing as Bama; everything else is a common schedule within SEC.

We are just teaching A&M the lesson: in the SEC if you beat a team, they will get a better reward. That's the way the SEC go.

This sounds like an incredibly crazy idea, but maybe we should snub the Cowboys Classic to show we don't respect Dallas.

Perhaps. But the schedules between the 2 big teams in the conference certainly aren't equitable. That's the issue I have, to go on a tangent. I have no idea who does the scheduling, who oks it, what have you, no idea if it's the AD or what but bottom line it is not equitable, not even close.

Cotton picked A&M for obvious reasons. Outback has only taken one West team in the BCS era. There were three teams with 11 wins, there is no anti LSU bias in the SEC office or among bowls.

No, LSU must beat aTm and Bama. They can lose to UGA or UF but not both.

I know the Georgia game was added recently to the schedule. How did LSU even agreed with it? All they needed to do was to sent Bama to Georgia and LSU to Kentucky to make fair.

the schedule next year is going to be brutal 8/31 vs TCU(jerryworld) 9/07vs UAB 9/14vs Kent State, who is a solid football team each year, but we should still beat the snot out of them 9/21 vs Auburn 9/28 @Georgia 10/05@MSU 10/12vs Florida 10/19@Ole Miss 10/26vs Furman 11/9@ Bama 11/23vs A&M 11/30vs Arkansas. the thing im most worried about is Ole Miss, that would be our 8th straight game, following road trips to Georgia and Starkville, then coming home and playing a physical florida team. Ole Miss's spread could give us huge problems

Probably, but this could also work in LSU's favor if they win. To be the champ you have to beat the best. I don't have a clue who does the scheduling or how it's made and there may be some bias there but LSU didn't get the sort end of the stick in the bowl games.

The Outback Bowl, we’re told, wanted LSU. And it had Michigan on the other side, with the potential for a first-ever meeting between the Tigers and Wolverines. The Capital One may have even wanted the Tigers, but the SEC wanted to protect SEC Championship Game loser Georgia.
Where was the SEC to protect LSU after the 2005 SECCG loss. I understand the fascination with Johnny football and Cotton Bowl taking them for the ratings but WTH is so compelling about the Cocks who are two spots lower than LSU.

I wouldn't go as far as calling it anti bias LSU than I'd call it sticking up for the SECCG loser. While I don't agree that losing the game should get you to a crappy bowl, that's the case currently. The SEC talked, forced, whatever the case may be, the Cap. One bowl committee out of their already made decision to take A&M and take UGA. Then the dominos fell and subsequently threw off all the other SEC bowl games, maybe with the exception of the Gator. The bowl committees are there for a reason, so let them pick the teams they want to invite and leave it at that. Where did TN go in 2007? Where did Florida go in '09? South Carolina after they lost to Cam in the SECCG? It's almost always the Chick Fil A. Again, I don't agree with it, but that's the way it is currently. So why does the SEC, or Slive, feel the need to step in and mess with it? Because UGA played Bama tough? So did we last season. So did we this year. Leave it to the committees.

Agree to what? SEC makes the schedule and no matter how biased it is for Bama the schools have to take it.

Very good question. Or when Fla lost to Bama and they had Tebow, who had already won the Heisman a couple years earlier. Why not stick up for them then? Why do it just "sometimes?" It makes no freaking sense. The more I think about it, the more I detest Slive.

No you dont and thats the problem. Out of the SEC top ten teams pre SEC CG UF 3-1 LSU 2-2 UGA 1-1 Bama 1-1 TAMU 1-2 USC 1-2 Bama and UGA skipped playing and beating the best and just played each other. Yes we had our chance vs Bama and should have won. However Bama learned just how hard it is to follow up a tough win vs a top 10 team with another top 10 team. We had 4 games in 5 weeks vs top 10 teams. It wears on a team.
