Positives of CFA over Cotton if we end up there

Most of us, including myself, prefer Cotton (more exposure, better date, more LSU fans in attendance), but it's not the end of the world if we play Clemson in Atlanta. CFA vs Clemson is a good bowl.
Positives:
-better matchup against a higher-ranked team (Clemson instead of possibly unranked Texas)
-Atlanta imo is a better "destination" than DFW
-no back-to-back trips to Dallas for Cotton and 2013 kickoff
-night game as opposed to morning kickoff in Florida
-guaranteed win vs ACC
Both Cotton and CFA are part of the new college football playoff, so they both put on a good show. I wish it was still called Peach Bowl...I think the CFA name unjustly affects people's perception of CFA.
We'd all prefer Cotton, but the CFA vs Clemson is not as shitty as some are making it out to be. I would be much more pissed if we got stuck in some 10am Florida bowl vs Northwestern. Still hoping for Jan. 4th Cotton vs Texas, but I wouldn't be too upset at all if we end up in CFA vs Clemson.

Our fan turnout for this game will be embarrassingly low, but I don't blame people for not going.
I'd be surprised if we get more than 10,000 LSU fans to attend.

This doesn't exist.
Neither one of these games really excites me or really pisses me off, so I don't really care either way.

the only positives of this matchup are for Georgia, because they wonh't have to play Clemson and then play them again to start next year.

And that alleged positive disappears if OU is forced to the Cotton Bowl by Northern Illinois.

Cap1 and Outback are noon, and Gator is 11am kickoff.
Bottom line: I don't want to be playing Northwestern in a morning/noon kickoff. That's the only matchup that I will shoot myself if we end up in.

Yea, this would be the best game of the 3 mentioned if possible.

LSU always has a decent turnout in Atlanta. We might not "travel" as well to the CFA, but Atlanta has the 3rd highest LSU alumni base outside of Louisiana (Houston/Dallas are 1-2). Lots of LSU fans in Atlanta.
Obviously, we'd have much more people at the Cotton, but we'll have a decent contingent at CFA as well.

Jesus, man. No matter we go, it's a meaningless exhibition. I don't understand why people get so worked up about where LSU winds up in bowl games not named the BCSNCG.

I'm being sarcastic, and I'll go to wherever we play (this will be my 13th consecutive LSU bowl game). I'm just saying that if we somehow end up playing Northwestern in a morning/noon kickoff, I'm going to have a very hard time getting excited for that matchup.
I can get excited for Texas/OU/Clemson.... But there's no way I'll be able to get excited for Northwestern.

LSU will still lose money on unsold tickets. The last 2 times we played in the CFA Bowl, we had to return part of our ticket allotment. According to what others have said, season ticket holders only requested 8,000 tickets to the CFA Bowl, while the Cotton Bowl got around 20,000 ticket requests. The local LSU fans may help fill some seats, but it won't be near as many as it would be in Dallas. Also, Dallas is much easier to get to from Baton Rouge and the trip would be less expensive for most Tiger fans wanting to attend.

No question we'll have way more fans at Cotton...but we won't go totally unrepresented in Atlanta.
Fingers crossed for cotton, but it's not the end of the world if we get CFA vs Clemson.

It's not so much the bowl game or the matchup, it's the petty bullshite politics that the SEC office continually plays that LSU always seems to come out on the losing end of.
Scheduling every year..permanent cross division opponents..and now this. I understand going to bat for one of your teams but why in the world would you do that at the potential cost of one of your other teams? It makes no sense to me, especially since the regional bowl matchups make more sense from the perspective of the bowls, too.
Do we really think Georgia will travel better to Dallas than LSU? Or LSU better to Atlanta or Tampa than Georgia?

Clemson is not a compelling game. At all. Blah. I'd rather play FSU or even VaTech from ACC.

If it's Cotton, I won't have to miss New Year's Eve.
A New Year's Eve or New Year's Day bowl means I'm either stuck on a bus or waiting in line to turn in my uniform at midnight.

I live 2 hours from Atlanta. I could bring my entire family as tickets would be face value or less. Since we are not in a BCS bowl, CFA bowl is better for me. Geaux Tigers.

The Cotton Bowl is the more economical of the two bowls for most LSU fans, and we'll for sure have more Tiger butts on the stands in Dallas than we would in Atlanta.

I don't agree with this. Its a Friday night and by taht time MOST people are BOWLED-OUT. But more people may watch that than a Chicken Bowl played on New Years eve.If you ant exposure either make it to the BIG game or a New Years day bowl.
