The man has done great things for Baylor. If he can hire a good DC then I think he'd hold his own in the SEC. Why isn't his name mentioned more in coaching searches?

It would be easy as hell to pull him from Baylor.

Arkansas needs to target the guy.

Arky needs Texas kids and he has spent his whole career in Texas. A lot of years as a high school coach.

He's supposedly at the top of our list if we miss out on the Big 3. I think he would be the perfect choice for us personally.

This is the #1 reason I wouldn't be upset if he was the hire. He's LOVED in TX high school circuits.

I really think we can do better (more balanced), but I'd much prefer Briles over someone like Malzah.

Don't know much about him. Seems like a good coach, though.

I would be fine with him, as mentioned there are a few above him on the wish list but honestly who knows- he could be a great fit for us.

I was about to come ask this myself. Seems like an ideal fit for Arlansas.

Texas recruiting ties, runs a good offense, and they have the ammo to outbid Baylor.

Briles and Franklin were my leaders back in June when I started tracking this thing.

I have reason to assume that Baylor's commitment to build a new stadium and nearly $400MM in facilities, a fat raise, a huge buyout, and an expanded budget wouldn't have come without a symbiotic agreement between Baylor and Coach Briles.

Those improvements likely wouldn't have happened without Baylor commiting to Briles and Briles commiting to Baylor.

Baylor can get into a bidding war with anyone, don't kid yourself. Will they be willing? I think dealing with Starr in a war would be hard to do successfully. You might get your guy, but he will win something, and make it painful.

That history is without Starr. Ever since he took over everything athletically has skyrocketed. So I don't think you go off the past as long as Starr is there. He has blocked Mulkey to LSU already, with payraise and extension.

women's basketball money is a little different than big time football money.

You don't pay attention to what Baylor has done lately then. They've got boatloads of cash, and can get more every Sunday if needed.

Ok guess a new baseball stadium, new basketball arena, new football ops and refitting stadium etc isn't convincing plus reworking all their HC and assistant coaches deals.

Baylor and Starr mean business now.
