And I think he has a great response as to why they're doing a movie. When asked about it at a UCLA Q&A session with film students, he said “It’s just a matter of when. It’s hard to do that while you have the series going on at the same time; I think that’s why it took The Simpsons 20 seasons to figure out how to do it.”

quote:

“We do know what the Family Guy movie will be. The Simpsons movie, I thought, was hilarious, but the one criticism I would have is that it’s a story they probably could’ve done on TV. There could’ve been an episode that had that plotline,” he said. “That’s the challenge with animation. You pretty much can do any story you want, so what is the reason for the movie? We finally hit on the answer to that question, and it will be something that would be impossible to do on TV.” Does that mean that the story is so epic, it transcends the small screen? Or that he is planning something so crass and rude that it’s not fit for the airwaves? MacFarlane already said too much. “I can’t tell you what that is,” he said, to disappointed groans from the students.

Full Link, where he discusses Oscar hosting duties, as well.

Watch episode 200 when they do the retrospect, they ask him the same thing and while vague there as well, he pretty much says it will be obviously something that can't be done on TV (filth)

25 mins of how Republicans are retards, 25 mins of how being an Athiest is the only way, 25 min of Stewie officially coming out as gay, 10 min chicken fight, and 5 mins of Peter on the ground screaming in pain. Fin

fricking truth. All MacFarlane does anymore is get his political views across.

Eh, they sort of moved away from the Stewie gay thing. It's vague here and there but I think they realized it didn't work.

They make fun of liberals a good bit, too.

And anyone else who can be made fun of, including themselves.

If they can't show it on TV, watch it be Lois and Brian.
