I'll bite. Why do you use debit instead of credit?

I have one credit card that I use for gas only. I get 5 % back on my gas purchases.

Other than that, I'd rather pay cash (debit). I simply don't like having a bill at the end of the month. I also know that I will spend more if I use a credit card. In fact, most people do.

Credit you get reward points. A debit gets you nothing. You should only use a debit card if you cannot control your spending. No one should even own a credit card unless they plan on fully paying it off every single month (unless your interest rate is 0)

Credit offers more protection to the consumer.
That's not true. Visa/MC debit cards offer the same protection as credit. The disadvantage is - with debit you have to wait to get the money back, and with Credit you simply wait to have the obligation to pay removed. And on debit, if the fraudulent charge causes an NSF on a check you wrote, your bank may not waive that fee. As for disputing a purchase with a merchant, there is absolutely no difference whether you purchased with a Debit card or Credit card.

Back when I used credit cards routinely it seemed like I would have an idea in my mind how much my bill was, but when I would get the bill it would always be more. And it also made impulse purchases too easy to make - and given my personality that was dangerous. It's certainly not like that for all people, but it was for me, that's why I mainly pay cash for everything now. It just simplifies things for me.

I know Capital One will put the money back in your account while they investigate, that's what they did when I had to dispute a strip club charge

Yeah, I'm waiting on them to reimburse me since someone apparently made a duplicate debit card and went shopping at gap kids

I got drunk that day but not that drunk

So with this logic, I should drop my 2% interest checking account on up 20k (which actually just automatically deposits money into my account monthly instead o giving me points). In fact when I started the account it was 4%!

you should use it enough to get the good interest then put it up

and unless you are using it as a savings 2% doesn't amount to much
