but Brees said after the game that he didn't know how much time was on the clock during that sequence.

hmmm i heard Brees say he saw 17 seconds when he snapped the ball, and thought for sure he'd have time for 2 more plays

said when that play was over he looked up and saw 7 and knew he was in trouble

8 passes to five runs on 3rd & 2 or less. I don't give a shite about those being successful or not

Seriously though, are those only conversions or all 3rd and shorts?

Brees says he thought there was more time on the clock before halftime than there was

Brees says that's completely in him.
Pretty much lines up with what we saw on the field. There's no other explanation for Brees' decision making.

Saints throw it a lot better than they run it, only a moron would find that ratio surprising.

i went through all the games, according to ESPNs play by play tracker, they are 3/10 on 3rd and 2.

like I said, its just a cherry picked stat

they are 6th in the league in 3rd down conversion. 44%

i stopped counting, but its a lot better than 14% (2/14) like originally said.

its probably closer to 65-70%

Watching tonight, when it was 3rd and 14 I felt like no big deal, we'll convert. 3rd and short, I'm biting my nails. And cherry picking or not that's an awful success rate on 3rd and 2

Is someone seriously blaming the backup offensive coordinator for the offensive woes? we out gained the falcons 436 to 283. The right plays were called, but drew Brees was horrible, threw 5 ints and missed wide open recievers all night.

The falcons couldn't stop them.

Both teams had 1 sack for 6 yards. So the o line performed well. We overpowered them in the run game.

We only scored in the red zone 33% of the time tonight. And the dumbass poster's custom team on madden is 9-3 so he wants to blame the loss on Pete Carmichael. Our head coach is not here you frick.

In a nutshell, I can't do it. I'm happy with what they try. I may yell, pull my hair, throw shite, but the real end is when I realize that I couldn't have even done more than say "Hut" as a member of the team.

yeah its funny how the streak ended, he actually had a Pass TD to Sproles, and one to Lance Moore, and one to ingram who has 2 left feet

It takes crazy shite to happen to stop brees, and they happened last night

How bad does he feel right now for dropping that pass? The most sure handed Saints receiver of all time (don't give me Eric Martin) will be remembered for dropping that pass for a long time. Poor guy.

He played very well last night, but that drop was bigger than the sum of all of the positive things he did.

He should feel very bad because it was a huge play.

I know he feels bad about it, but it's not like that one thing would have won us the game. Horrible time management an 5 picks did

It's a microcosm of the season, IMO.
