Brees deserves a lot of the blame.

Brees' salary is larger than the whole offensive side of the ball's salary combined. He deserves to take a little heat when he doesn't produce.

I don't think anybody is trying to remove blame from Brees tonight.

Oh cool salary talk.

Get over it. It's a damn near impossible season to begin with and the Saints are still in the wildcard hunt.

Let it go. This was the perfect season for Brees' contract to be front loaded any ways.

How many Drew Brees flame threads are you gonna start?
Did he steal your girlfriend in high school or something?

Congrats on your first post ever not calling him "Bree's". You're still absolutely retarded, though. I'm dead serious. With all the terrible posters on the Saints board, you're the only one I think actually has a learning disability.

Brees is at significant risk of becoming a Favre - he's so interested in making plays and so unafraid of taking risks that his INTs are getting out of control.

Yeah, he's been a guy who throws some picks for a while now - he's just making more bad decisions (and yes, 41 attempts per game in the last three years has something to do with it too)

Matt Ryan had a shitload of turnovers recently.

shite happens.

Brees is nowhere near a Farve.

Favre was fricking awesome - a MVP comparison does not suck

He's just forcing too many passes and making too many stupid mistakes

Some of it is also how many pass attempts he is taking... there was no reason for them or to get away from a functional running game. The Saints won the Super Bowl with fewer Brees attempts and more rushing

This is mathematically impossible.

Can anyone tell me why?

NFL should have a one player exception to salary cap for a player who has been with a team X number of years. I think NBA has something like that.

It sucks that teams like the Saints and the Colts are faced with either having to mortgage the rest of the team to keep one great long time player or lose that player to free agency.

I don't blame either Brees or the Saints for the deal. Business is business. But the results are indeed unfortunate.
