We always open one gift.
Just read a cute thing for kids on pinterest. They called it the minivan express. Make hot cocoa and popcorn and have in the vehicle. Let the kids get ready for bed and when they pull back the cover there is a ticket. They get their tickets punched for the minivan express as they get in and go around looking at Christmas lights. I thought that was cute. I love to go look at lights and my daughter is old enough to appreciate it now.

We put a Santa hat on top of the tree instead of a star or angel and on Christmas morning I take it down and give it to one of our boys and he plays Santa and hands out gifts to everyone.
